On Wednesday 11th June last a group of 36 or so left our Parish on a trip to Lourdes.
This was a special occasion for all of us. A time set apart both to be present both to Our Lady and also a time to be set apart for ourselves. We all stayed in the Hotel Jeanne d'Arc under Madam Cassain's eager eye. The food was good, the company even better and we all had our own adventures. I think what made this Pilgrimage special was that sense of caring for each other. Not every Pilgrimage has this sense of bonding but this one certainly did!
Our Spiritual Director was Fr. Michael O'Grady and he made each Mass very special - Our Lady being the theme of each of them. We also received the Sacrament of The Sick during a lovely Mass in Bartres, plus a blessing of a relic of Saint Bernadette. Suffice to say the Grotto was the focus of our attention. It's such a peaceful place there that you would think our lady was still present in That Niche in the Rock! and I am sure that she is! and that she heard all our prayers.
Our very special thank to Fr.Michael for making this such a happy occasion for all.
